Insurance Age and Axa have toured the country hosting interviews in Birmingham, Manchester, London and for the first time ever by Skype, to find the best new talent in the broker market.
The six ambitious candidates all have one aim: to be crowned Broker Apprentice 2017.
What is the Broker Apprentice?
Taking part in a raft of filmed challenges, the chosen brokers tested themselves and their business acumen during both individual and team-based tasks, with plenty of opportunities for learning, not least from the career-enhancing feedback from Axa's senior management.
The 2017 winner received a place on Axa's highly regarded and CII accredited Broker Future seminar in 2018! Designed to nurture new broker talent, this year's exclusive seminar is taking place over two days at a stunning chateau in France.
2015 winner Charlie Barrett, formerly of Leeds headquartered Henderson Insurance Brokers advised: "Just go for it. You have to have the motivation and get-up-and-go to push yourself. It is a phenomenal experience."
2016 winner Craig Younger of County Durham-based Castle Insurance Services said: "I would say 100% that brokers need to apply for this and get out of their comfort zone and meet other brokers. It is brilliant to see that talent is clearly there."
Testimonials
You won't get a better chance to apply the theory you already know in a way that really tests every aspect about your broking knowledge and customer skills. If I was allowed, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
Craig Younger, 2016 Contestant
I would encourage anyone to enter the Broker Apprentice because it practices and tests skills that your everyday job doesn't, highlighting new skills you didn't know you had.
Jonathan Catley, 2016 Contestant
Not just on a professional level, but the BA on a whole is a personal experience, opening you up to a much bigger world of experience, from team work and planning to presentations and interviews. If I could enter again, I would!
Dean Caldwell, 2016 Contestant
